WRITING AS A STATE OF CONSCIOUS DREAMING

If you’ve ever been there, you long to be there again. It’s what athletes call THE ZONE.
It’s that sweet place where time moves as fast or slow as you want, and creative connections are made effortlessly. It’s the state of relaxed attention in which the muse or the creative daimon draws close and whispers in your ear. It’s the borderland beyond the tame fields and picket fences of the mind, where it’s easy for the BIG story hunting YOU to find You!

In this one-day dreamwriting program, in a lovely retreat house nestled in the woods, we'll approach writing as a state of conscious dreaming that will carry us into creative flow, abounding with joy and with the delight of instant publication through sharing ~ by reading, telling and performing ~ with a circle of fellow-adventurers.

"A writer is not so much someone who has something to say as he is someone who has found a process that will bring about new things he would not have thought of if he had not started to say them.” – William Stafford, “A Way of Writing”

This creative writing program will help you find fresh and delightful ways to release the artist and writer inside. This innovative playshop is an invitation to tap into our creative source, awaken to the deeper stories of our lives, and claim their mythic power to inspire and to heal. We’ll learn how to:

--Use dream energy to go beyond blocks and move seamlessly into creative flow
--Turn dreams into poems, stories and scripts
--
Open a creative inner space to which we can return again and again for inspiration and guidance
--
Dream with the Earth and write from the memories of the land itself

…..and wonderful new games to release our inner writer and storyteller
